2024 will be a pivotal year for European science diplomacy
The DLR Projektträger is supporting the further development of European science diplomacy on behalf of the European Commission. The starting signal for this was given at the "First European Conference on Science Diplomacy", which took place on 18 and 19 December 2023 under the Spanish EU Council Presidency in Madrid and online.

Event: Fostering Innovation Ecosystems through Widening
Establishing scientific excellence in all EU countries - that is the goal of the "Widening" action program. At the seventh Brussels: FutureTalks on November 20, 2023, experts will discuss what role the program can play in the individual innovation ecosystems in Central and Eastern European countries.
Event: Brussels FutureTalks on the implementation of EU missions

New cooperation with EU on Foresight and Technology Assessment
DLR Projektträger has a new client: in the coming years, it will provide strategic advice to the European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS) in the fields of Strategic Foresight and Technology Assessment.
The City of Bonn has given the green light to a preliminary building application for a groundbreaking office project. The DLR Projektträger is to move onto the energy-efficient, socially and sustainably designed campus in the north of the city.
Event: Brussels FutureTalks on vocational education and training in Europe
On 12 March, the DLR Projektträger "Brussels FutureTalks" will enter the next round. The event "Vocational Education and Training in Europe: Shaping a More Inclusive Future" will bring together experts from (vocational) education and training, politics, networks and the economic and social partners in the European Year of Skills.
In the fight against Covid-19, staff of the DLR Projektträger (DLR-PT) supported the German government in key funding programmes. Milestones included the development of a vaccine by the company BioNTech, the networking of German university hospitals in the University Medicine Network and the rapid realisation of important research projects.
European cooperation in education, research and innovation
The EU-Bureau of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) offers services related to policy areas, programmes and projects of the EU. It helps to ensure that German actors find ideal political framework conditions and practice-oriented regulations in the EU. In this way, funding opportunities can also be used intensively in Germany.
Red Lists of the Animals, Plants and Fungi of Germany
Red Lists document the endangerment of native species on a scientific basis and in condensed form. They are data sources for legislative measures, argumentation aids for environmentally relevant planning and show the urgent need for action in species protection. The Red List Centre is operated by the DLR Projektträger (DLR-PT).
