In Kraków, Ukrainian stakeholders developed strategic priorities for the country’s research and innovation landscape through to 2035. The Strategic Foresight Workshop was part of the Hori-zon Europe project “LUKE,” coordinated by DLR Projektträger.

DLR Projektträger has coordinated a study on digital civic engagement on behalf of the European Parliament’s ‘Panel for the Future of Science and Technology’. In collaboration with IQIB and Democracy X, 94 digital participation tools were analysed and concrete recommendations for EU policy were developed.

At the end of January, DLR Projektträger held a strategic foresight workshop with 40 experts. Using the backcasting method, they translated four scenarios into concrete priorities for the 'Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda' of the future 'European Partnership on Social Transformations and Resilience'.

Lists of critical and sensitive technologies are becoming increasingly important for research security and technology sovereignty. In a new analysis, DLR Projektträger (DLR-PT) compares approaches from the EU, France, Canada, the Netherlands, Australia and the USA. It also outlines how the lists can be used to support detailed risk assessments.

At the Brussels FutureTalk on 10 November 2025, DLR Projektträger showed that the future of vocational education and training will be unthinkable without artificial intelligence – but there must be a critical human interface. Around 70 experts from various countries discussed how AI can be used and shaped across generations.
