Opportunities for vocational training through AI

Lists of critical and sensitive technologies are becoming increasingly important for research security and technology sovereignty. In a new analysis, DLR Projektträger (DLR-PT) compares approaches from the EU, France, Canada, the Netherlands, Australia and the USA. It also outlines how the lists can be used to support detailed risk assessments.

At the Brussels FutureTalk on 10 November 2025, DLR Projektträger showed that the future of vocational education and training will be unthinkable without artificial intelligence – but there must be a critical human interface. Around 70 experts from various countries discussed how AI can be used and shaped across generations.

The Brussels FutureTalks series will enter its next round on 10 November 2025. Organised by DLR Projektträger and the EVBB, the event offers a future-focused discussion on Vocational Education and Training (VET) in the age of AI. The dialogue will lead to sustainable pathways for the intergenerational cooperation between the VET stakeholders.

On June 30, 2025, our Brussels FutureTalks series will enter its next round – the tenth, organized by the Brussels office of DLR Projektträger: “One Health in Action – Transforming Policy, Practice and Planetary Well-being” will focus on the role of environmental health and offer scientific and practical insights into One Health applications.

DLR-PT organises a joint foresight exercise back-to-back with the ministerial meeting of the “Western Balkans Steering Platform on Education & Training, Research & Innovation, and Culture” in North Macedonia.

More and more researchers and decision-makers are using foresight methods to better anticipate future developments and make strategic decisions. As part of the EU project ‘Eye of Europe’, DLR Projektträger has now produced a study on the European foresight landscape.
