11th Regional Conference of the Smart Cities Model Projects in Jena

17th August 2023 — The city of Jena is one of 73 federally funded Smart Cities model projects. the Jena vision of the Smart City is one that creates and uses knowledge with the help of digitalisation. At the 11th regional conference of the Smart Cities model projects, this project will provide in-depth insights into the various fields of action that are to be filled with life in the coming years. One focus is the provision of urban data via the "WISSENsAllmende Jena" platform.

Conference addresses all municipalities in the region

The conference, which is aimed at municipal representatives from the region and all those interested in the topic of smart cities, is not only about knowledge transfer, but also about establishing and expanding regional networks. To this end, the event offers a diverse, interactive programme with impulses from municipal practice, workshops, networking formats and panel discussions. In the panels, different stakeholders will discuss how municipalities in the region can learn and share together and shape a smart future. The workshops are to present practical examples around urban data platforms, smart visualisation and participation in the smart city.

Free initial consulting on site

On site, the team of the consulting service "Start Smart" also offers free initial consultations for non-funded municipalities and arranges "peer-learnings" with the Smart Cities model projects. A get-together followed by an excursion to the Jentower is to round off the day.

The Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) cordially invites all municipalities from Thuringia and beyond. The event is organized by DLR Projektträger, which is in charge of the Coordination and Transfer Office for Model Projects in Smart Cities (KTS).
