PINK – The Platform for Innovative Cultural Networks

A service provided by DLR Projektträger connects people working across the cultural sector. And this is only the beginning.

The “DLR Projektträger Plattform für Innovative Netzwerke in der Kultur” (PINK) brings together cultural practitioners, institutions, and companies. Its goals are to foster knowledge exchange, unlock resources, and sustainably strengthen the cultural landscape. More than 300 organizations already use the service.

By the end of 2024, around 500 users from cultural, educational, and scientific institutions, as well as from business and public administration, had registered on PINK to find partners for their own projects. The German-speaking platform offers a low-threshold way to initiate collaborations between stakeholders and institutions from diverse cultural fields, partnerships that are often required in funding programs.

With PINK, the DLR Projektträger is creating networks in culture and SSH (social science and humanities)

Community members can post cultural announcements – events, information on new funding programmes, project presentations – independently and publish them following editorial review by the PINK team. A key focus is on virtual events developed by the DLR Projektträger addressing key and future-oriented issues across the broad cultural sector. Numerous speakers from the PINK community have already presented their projects here and provided valuable insights. Between 50 and 100 members per event take part in the discussions within this framework. Thanks to a variety of event formats and the diversity of topics covered, the PINK community is growing steadily. This is supported by the promotion of events via distribution lists such as the ‘Supporting Programme for Humanities and Social Sciences’ portal of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) or the DLR Projektträger’s own channels, such as newsletters or LinkedIn.
The platform’s advisory and information events offer a special service. The ‘PINK Kultur Couch’, a regular open consultation hour for the community, is particularly popular with members. There are also direct discussion and advisory services available to members.

PINK: DLR Projektträger moderates the community

To reach the PINK community and become part of it, admission free registration on the platform is required. The registration process and the use of the platform’s features are self-explanatory and accessible. Once registered, users benefit from the opportunity to publish projects and events, participate in events, and draw on the expertise that the DLR Projektträger offers in setting themes, designing and implementing events. Your own ideas, for example for bespoke events that the DLR Projektträger could organise on PINK, are always welcome! If required, PINK can also be integrated into contracts with the DLR Projektträger that seek an exchange with the cultural sector.
