Die Personenförderung ist ein zentrales Förderinstrument, um spezifische Expertise im Bereich GCT auszubauen und translationale Vernetzungsstrukturen zwischen Grundlagenforschung und Klinik einerseits und Akademie und Industrie andererseits zu stärken. Mit dem nationalen Translationalen Tandem-Programm für gen- und zellbasierte Therapien (nTTP-GCT) wurde ein innovatives Interaktionsprogramm für Clinician Scientists und Translational Scientists konzipiert und implementiert.
Das Programm wird von der BIH Biomedical Innovation Academy (BIA) koordiniert, einem Think Tank für strategische akademische Personalentwicklung in der Biomedizin. Die BIA hat ein breites Förderportfolio, umfassende Expertise und langjährige Erfahrung im Bereich der Entwicklung von zielgruppen- und karrierephasenspezifischen Förderprogrammen – insbesondere das renommierte BIH Charité Clinician Scientist Programm mit seinen unterschiedlichen Förderlinien.
Gefördert werden Tandems aus einem Junior Clinician Scientist (JCS) und einem Translational Scientist (TS), die gemeinsam ein translationales Projekt bearbeiten. Die zweijährige Förderung umfasst die Stellenfinanzierung mit gesicherter Forschungszeit (JCS: 20 %, TS: 50 %), die Finanzierung projektrelevanter Reisen sowie Fortbildungs- und Vernetzungsaktivitäten.
English text: GCT personnel development for translationally trained young clinical and scientific professionals
Funding of talented individuals is a key funding instrument for expanding specific expertise in the field of GCT and strengthening translational networking structures between basic research and clinical practice as well as between academia and industry. With the national Translational Tandem Program for Gene- and Cell-based Therapies (nTTP-GCT), an innovative interaction program for Clinician Scientists and Translational Scientists has been designed and implemented.
The program is coordinated by the BIH Biomedical Innovation Academy (BIA), a think tank for strategic academic personnel development in biomedicine. The BIA has a broad funding portfolio, extensive expertise and many years of experience in the development of specific target groups and career phase-specific funding programs (for example the renowned BIH Charité Clinician Scientist Program with its various funding lines).
The program supports tandems consisting of a Junior Clinician Scientist (JCS) and a Translational Scientist (TS) who work together on a translational project. The two-year funding program includes job funding with protected research time (JCS: 20 %, TS: 50 %), funding for project-related travel as well as training and networking activities.
